ABOUT KATHY
Kathy Robbins is lifelong artist; having worked in watercolor, oil paintings, colored pencils, pen and ink, book illustrations, hand-made paper, and metals. She studied Fine Arts at the University of Wisconsin and has participated in many other art courses and workshops.
Since moving to beautiful Tucson, Arizona, Kathy has been juried into the Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild and has achieved Signature Status. Her work has exhibited in many shows and galleries in Tucson, where she has won numerous awards.
In the past year, Kathy's work has been shown in a number of group and solo shows. In 2008 she illustrated a children’s book about the Sonoran Desert with 30 original watercolor paintings. Her paintings are being enjoyed in homes in Arizona, New Mexico, Wisconsin, Maine and Europe.
Presently, Kathy is working primarily in watercolor. Her style has evolved to expressionistic realism with elements of abstraction. She works from her own photos, natural scenes, and her imagination. Kathy is inspired by Southwestern and Mexican imagery, plant life, people, and street scenes.
